Deal Validation: How We Verify Offers — Dealrax Blog
Published June 20, 2026
Anyone can post a deal on Dealrax, but not every submission is treated equally once it's live. Behind the scenes, we run a validation pipeline designed to flag pricing that doesn't add up before it reaches the homepage.
Price cross-checking
When a deal is submitted, our validation service checks the claimed price against independent retailer pricing data where available. This is configurable per-retailer — currently active validators include CheapShark for general retail price comparison, with additional retailer integrations added over time as they're verified.
AI-assisted scoring
Every deal gets an AI-generated quality score based on factors like discount size relative to the category norm, the title and description's wording, and historical patterns of similar deals. The score is a signal to shoppers — it never gates whether a deal can be posted, and it never overrides community votes.
Community moderation as the final layer
Automated checks catch a lot, but the community is the real backstop. Any user can upvote, downvote, or report a deal as expired, incorrect, or misleading — and reported deals are reviewed by our moderation team. This is also why we built a public reporting system rather than hiding moderation entirely behind the scenes.
Why we're transparent about this
A lot of deal sites treat their curation process as a black box. We'd rather you know exactly how a deal earns its place on the homepage — and exactly how to flag one that doesn't deserve to be there.
